After she left, the rest of the day at the stand was uneventful, but the parallels in the girls story troubled me. eventually i convinced myself that it was just an unusual coincidence, and i knew my memory was bad from drinking and solitude. the fantasies of my customers lives intertwined with reality weren't predictions, but the reverse; i must have been filling in details i already knew, forgetting them and then thinking they were clairvoyance. idiot, i thought.
